I painted a model for my fallout-inspired ruleset today. Really happy with the color of the armor. The protectron was done by Bloodsbane.

Mordheim orcs

We recently started a new Mordheim campaign and decided to make myself a new gang. I chose orcs!

I will only use old school orcs and I won’t feel forced to paint them all green. These three are the only finished ones so far. The on on the left is my leader, though he stared as one of the big ‘uns. My boss went out of action in game 1 and roll a double 1 on the injury table afterwards (dead) so this guy had to step up. The middle one is the other big ‘un. On the right is an ordinary orc who proved himself to be more than that by rolling a ”lad’s got talent” result on his first level up. Currently the strongest member of the warband with strength 4.

WIP: Iyanden Ghost Warriors; Wraithblades with Wraithaxe and Wraithguard with D-scythes

It’s not much of an update, but I’m slowly starting to prepare more units to be painted for my eldar force.

I recetly paint stripped 10 Wraithblades and 5 Wraithguards, and now I pretty much just need to get my hands on a white undercoat before I can start.

That’s all for now, stay tuned!

Church Construct #3:

So, one part of the church wall is done, the round room at the back, so I’ve glued the bottom wall to the floor so I could start building the roof section for it :)

2014-08-05 22.13.11

Tested out my idea of how to do the round roof with a slice of paper first. The original plan was to make a U-shape that fit the rounded wall but I found it easier to just use a straight piece of paper and then cut shreds in it as I bent it along the wall.

2014-08-05 22.19.38

I then cut a piece of cardboard the same width the roof needed to be, and cut shreds almost all the way through it. I left just about 5mm at the edge to hold it together.

2014-08-05 22.27.14

I folded every piece slightly at the bottom, over the next piece to the left, so the roof would be easier to bend :)

2014-08-05 22.27.23

Held in place with needles as I tested the fit.

2014-08-05 22.29.34

Used a piece of foam to hold the upper round wall the right shape as I glued the roof to it.

2014-08-05 22.49.34

Just messed some glue at the top, paper strips to keep it together.

2014-08-05 22.59.07

The inside of the roof.

2014-08-05 23.05.40

Did the same for the top roof, though I had to cut some of the cardboard pieces out where the folds got too thick around the bend.

2014-08-06 18.44.49

I only glued the roof parts to the upper wall, as I wanted this whole section to be removable for easier access to the bottom floor. Theres not gonna be an upper level here, just a high ceiling as I plan on adding a quite tall statue in the middle of the round room.

2014-08-06 18.59.25

The full roof! Both lower and upper. Looks kinda like crap right now but Im gonna fix that up later!

Church Construct #2:

Some more progress on my church.

I’ve cut out most of the windows and started carving bricks into the foam using a ballpoint pen.

Started gluing some pieces together too :) still mostly hold up by pins tho, I have to finish the inside of the walls and give them some structure while everything is still easy to reach.

Made a new floor for the inside as well, the back end of the church is gonna have a slightly elevated floor (2 foam boards thick, about 2cm) with a pretty wide staircase leading up to the altar.

I’ve done some details, like the windows on the higher walls, in thinner foam to give some variety to the walls. They are pretty fragile as is but I’m gonna add glass windows to them later so hopefully they will be sturdier then.

Think I’m gonna write a tutorial on how to make curved walls later :)

Generic fort

I have been building a fantasy/medieval fort. Its main use will be as the base of operations for my band of mercenaries in our low fantasy games. Made almost completely from styrofoam, it is still far from finished.

I added some more battlements.

Church Construct #1:

I’m currently working on this piece of terrain. It’s gonna be a church, design based on an actual church in Örebro, Sweden, with some minor changes to windows etc. But it’s pretty close to the original!

This is how far I’ve gotten as of this tuesday (I think).

Right now all the pieces are just pinned together with needles, to make sure everything fits or if I have to rethink on the construction.

Showcase: Iyanden Ghost Warriors

I’ve been turning my eyes a lot towards my Eldar of late, the Craftworld Iyanden to be precise.

I picked this army for several reasons, but the main ones are the aesthetics of the Eldar Wraith units (I find them marvelous!), the lore around said Craftworld of being stoic fighters against Chaos, having tough units that are hard to kill, and I have never painted a bright colored force before (I might post a tutorial of how I paint my infantry later on this month).

More units will be added to the force so that I can play bigger games and have some chance to alter my force, so it doesn’t get too monochrome in the way I play the game.

That’s all for tonight!

Skullcrushers red armour tutorial

Here is a guide on how to paint red armour on Chaos Warrior Skullcrushers I did a few years ago. The models themselves were not released yet when I made this and so are kitbashed chaos knights and plastic bloodcrushers.

After finisheing the model with brass, black, as well as basing it it looks like this:

Project Roll Call #1: Confrontation Dirz

I’m on a confrontation binge lately, chasing the few Griffin and Dirz sculpts I’m still missing on ebay and finally making some headway on painting them. At the moment I’m focusing my efforts on the figures that can be used in Hybrid, the boardgame. Here’s where I’m at with the badguys.
